COWI’s Co-creator program 2025: Unlocking innovation for a more sustainable future

06 June 2025

For the third consecutive year, COWI proudly presented the results of its Co-creator program — an initiative dedicated to advancing sustainability and digitalisation.

Over an intensive 12-week period, COWI joined forces with six innovative startups to tackle some of the most pressing challenges within renewable energy, infrastructure, and the buildings & industry sectors.

The journey culminated at Expo Day in Copenhagen, held on Wednesday, June 3, where each startup took the stage to showcase the results of their collaboration with the COWI teams. This year’s startups hailed from Germany, Portugal, Denmark, the USA, and the UK, and were carefully selected from an initial pool of 95 startups.

The six startups: Nala Earth, Enline, Revalu, Ento, Material Evolution, Aren.

The day began with Charlotte Søgaard, SVP of Innovation, Sustainability, and Digital, outlining the program’s commitment to addressing sector-specific sustainability and digitalisation challenges.

Marius Weydahl Berg, COWI’s Chief Business Development Officer, delivered opening remarks, emphasising the value of innovation partnerships:

”The purpose of the Co-creator program and today is for all participants to gain valuable insights into cutting-edge technologies driving a greener and more secure future – and for all of us to connect with key players within the innovation ecosystem. Our shared mission in this programme and today is to forge a path toward a more sustainable, secure, and liveable future by nurturing innovation, fostering collaboration, and driving sustainable change.”

Following the presentations, the startups and their COWI collaborators had a Q&A and reflected on their experiences and the mutual benefits that arose from joining forces — COWI gaining insight into the latest technological developments, while the startups greatly value COWI’s expertise and strategic perspective, which help them refine their approaches. COWI has already made plans to continue collaborating with at least three of the participating startups.

The event concluded with a certificate ceremony, during which COWI’s CEO, Jens Christoffersen, presented official certificates to all participating startups and teams, recognising their dedication, innovation, and hard work.
