"We are already engaged in several important projects in Greenland within defence, critical infrastructure and the extraction of critical raw materials, and the demand for significant investments in defence, resilience and development in Greenland seems to only increase in the coming years."
Jens Højgaard Christoffersen, Group CEO, COWI
COWI has been active in Greenland for more than 60 years, working on projects ranging from infrastructure and defence to hospital construction and urban development.
“A well-functioning and secure infrastructure is more important than ever. This applies to airports, roads and ports, as well as digital infrastructure and supply security, where there is a potential in, among other things, the extraction of critical raw materials and renewable energy. We look forward to further contributing to connecting the country and strengthening cohesion by drawing on our many years of experience across the Arctic,” explains Jens Højgaard Christoffersen.
Lasse B. Mousten, who has lived in Greenland for the past 18 years, will take up the role of Managing Director of COWI in Greenland.
"COWI has extensive experience with projects in Greenland, including collaborations with the Greenlandic municipalities, Naalakkersuisut, the Agency for Digitisation (Aqutsisoqarfik) and Sikuki Nuuk Harbour. With a local presence, we have an even better opportunity to deepen cooperation with the Greenlandic business community and strengthen relations with customers and partners."
