Are you keen to better understand both the potentials and the barriers to making distributed heating and cooling solutions a success? Then register below and listen in on our next ”Morning Fuel webinar” on 17 February at 8:30–9:15. As always, you can post questions for participants during the webcast.
Denmark has been a leader in district heating for years. Over decades of widespread deployment of distributed heating technology, significant results have been achieved.
Implementing an infrastructure for heat distribution allows for sizeable reductions in climate effects, increased security by curbing energy dependencies and – when approached the right way – significant financial upsides.
Building on a strong track record of the efficient application of district heating and cooling in countries like Denmark, a new EU heating and cooling strategy is expected to be published early this year. Key will be the acceleration of distributed solutions throughout Europe, waste heat recovery and a strong integration of both planning and energy infrastructure.
This is a good opportunity to discuss several key subjects, such as:
• Why has district heating been such a success up til now?
• What is its potential?
• Which barriers are in the way of a broader penetration of the European heat and cooling market, and how do we best overcome these?
To address these crucial topics, we have invited a number of leading experts in the field to discuss how to make investments in distributed heating and cooling solutions a durable success. Together, they represent in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience, both national and international, spanning public utilities, research and consultancy.
• Brian Vad Mathiesen, Professor at Aalborg University and a leading expert on energy planning and energy systems
• Thomas Uhd, Head of Intelligent Energy, Green Power Denmark
• Søren Magnusen, Senior Consultant, Danish District Heating Association
• Henrik Dalsgård, Market Director, District Heating, COWI A/S.
The panel debate will be moderated by Jakob Dybdal Christensen, Market Director, COWI.
