"It is deeply fulfilling to be part of projects that have a tangible long-term positive impact on everyday life worldwide."
Krzysztof Dobrzynski, Advanced Catenary Engineer
I work on projects related to railway catenary systems, which comprise a key element of rail transport infrastructure. Rail transport plays a strategic role in the world and is one of the most environmentally friendly ways of moving people and goods.
Rail generates significantly less CO₂ emissions than road or air transport, causes less noise, occupies less space, and causes less ecosystem fragmentation.
We are involved in railway catenary projects mainly across the Norway, Denmark, and Sweden markets, focusing on modernizing existing systems, especially at stations.
We utilize advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) methods and develop our own tools to enhance project quality and efficiency.
For example, in a time-sensitive railway project in Norway, our combined Polish and Norwegian team designed 150 kilometers of railway catenary system in less than half the usual time by creating a custom catenary design tool.
This combination of innovation, teamwork, and contribution makes our projects exciting and rewarding.
Teamwork is one of our greatest assets. At COWI, I have experienced firsthand that a strong, supportive team can achieve far more than individuals working alone.
Our culture encourages mutual support and knowledge sharing. Our team consists of qualified professionals who prioritize innovation and quality, and the atmosphere is open to new ideas and approaches.
The Polish and Norwegian teams work closely, understand each other’s strengths, and use them effectively. We are open to new working methods and solutions which have enabled us to create tools and methodologies such as automated 3D catenary system modeling and BIM data quality control tools that have become project standards.
This is key to success in large and complex projects.
"COWI offers many development opportunities, from cross-departmental and international collaboration to participation in interesting projects, workshops, and mentoring."
