​​The Valerox (former Valex) project for Perstorp Oxo originally started in 2006 but was put on hold 2008. Since august 2011 COWI has been involved in the re-start of the project.

THE PROJECT

This multidisciplinary project is a challenge where COWI shall perform all
Detail Engineering including final As-built at middle of 2015. The Valerox project will deliver a new platform for the existing plant portfolio. Not only will will the investment deliver a production platform based on Butene (C4). In addition it will upgrade the Stenungsund site’s current utility park and increase product flexibility.

COWI’S PART OF THE MISSION

COWI Scope of work comprise off:

  • Extension of existing plant for additional syngas capacity
  • Gras root plant for Aldehyde plant
  • Revamp of existing NBUT/IBUT-plant
  • Revamp of existing DOP-plant to switch to DPHP
  • Complete new Flare system and Flare stack
  • New and extension of Electrical substations
  • New connecting pipe racks
  • Additions to existing infrastructure.
