The Valley Campus, Denmark
Assisting international engine company Everllence in creating a strong platform for transforming the maritime industry through innovation and sustainability. The company wished to consolidate two Danish locations to form a new main location at the new campus situated west of Copenhagen.
Creating a new campus for Everllence’s Danish business. The campus will hold both administrative offices, R&D facilities, logistic facilities, production and a social hub featuring an academy.
Designed for more than 1,500 colleagues, the Valley Campus brings Everllence’s offices, production, logistics and R&D activities together in one location. It provides a strong platform for innovation, collaboration and sustainability, supporting the company's ambitions while contributing to a more environmentally friendly future for global shipping.

Everllence will consolidate two locations to form a new main location, dubbed ‘The Valley Campus’, in Hedeland, near Roskilde in Denmark. It will house offices, production, logistic facilities, a research centre and a social hub featuring an academy. Spanning a 175,000 m² plot, the project will comprise approximately 70,000 m² of gross floor area.
Designed with state-of-the-art facilities for more than 1,500 colleagues, the campus will provide a strong platform for driving innovation and sustainability in the maritime industry, paving the way for a more environmentally friendly future for global shipping.
The architecture is inspired by the maritime world – the signature light green of Everllence’s giant two-stroke engines, the galleries of engine rooms, the revolving flywheels, and the durable materials that define the industry. These elements have been translated into a distinctive architectural concept that draws on the maritime and engineering heritage of Everllence while creating a campus closely connected to nature and the surrounding community.
The project consists of two buildings, namely a four-storey office building and a social hub. The office building will include changing facilities, a gym and test laboratories on the ground floor. On the roof of the office building, enclosed rooftop buildings will be established for installations in connection with open installation yards.
The social hub is designed as a striking circular building spanning three storeys. At its heart, a generous central atrium connects four spacious workshops, a welcoming cafeteria and a range of support facilities, including kitchens, changing rooms, offices and a film studio. The first floor will accommodate offices, meeting rooms and classrooms. The second floor will include a large multi-room, storage areas, meeting rooms and a leisure area.
Both buildings will be founded on reinforced concrete piles. A self-supporting in-situ ground slab will be constructed, which will generally be supported along the building's load-bearing lines and supplemented with additional piles at large distances between the load-bearing lines.
We developed a strong and clear architectural concept that Everllence could relate to. We have had a strong focus on collaboration; both in relation to Everllence and DS Flexhal, and among ourselves. This means early involvement from both engineers and architects from Arkitema, ensuring a well-planned project in all stages.
