Leading consulting group with a 360° approach
Per Hammarberg is to deliver on growth ambitions and increase internationalisation.
When Per Hammarberg assumes the position as managing director COWI Sweden in the beginning of the new year, the international consulting company COWI will have a new director for their Swedish business unit.
COWI is looking forward to initiate the corporation with Per Hammarberg when he takes over the position as managing director after Anders Rydberg who steps back as planned at the age of 63 after more than 24 years in this position. Per Hammarberg comes from a position as President of Sweco Central & Eastern Europe bringing many years of international as well as national experience from the consulting business.
The announcement about the new managing director comes shortly after COWI presented the best half year result ever and reported significant growth throughout Scandinavia as a number of strategic actions showed drastic impact.
“We are pleased that our Swedish business unit has found such a strong candidate as Per Hammarberg to take over as managing director for COWI Sweden. COWI has benefitted from the corporation with Anders Rydberg, who has generated strong results in COWI based on his significant insight and experience within consultancy. Thus, he delivers a company in growth with a proper bottom line, and we are looking forward to continue the strategic development with Per Hammarberg in the driving seat and realise the growth ambitions for the Swedish market and internationally”, says Lars-Peter Søbye, CEO at COWI Holding AS.
In 2013 COWI Sweden has excelled by winning a number of prestigious projects, such as major contracts in LNG projects both in Sweden and abroad, paper production plants in Turkey, Russia, and Chile and the planning of power supply for Volvo’s new 44.000 sq. production facilities in Torslanda.
“COWI is an exciting company, and I am happy to have been given the opportunity to lead COWI in Sweden. COWI holds a strong position in the Swedish market spearheading the industry segment and is well under way in the area of infrastructure. In many ways the industry segment is the backbone of our Swedish business, and COWI will continue to focus on the exiting market within process industry as well as prioritizing power plants and energy production. The latter effort is underlined by the takeover of Vattenfall’s Danish engineer business that positions COWI as one of the leading consultancies within sustainable production of electricity and heating” says Per Hammarberg, future managing director of COWI Sweden.
