New North Zealand Hospital has been nominated for the MIPIM 2015 award in the category "Best Futura Mega Project".
The new regional hospital is to be the primary care resource for people in need of acute care. The new 124,000 m2 hospital will be built on a greenfield site outside the town Hillerød and is expected to be ready by 2020.
The new building will replace the existing hospitals in Hilllerød, Elsinore and Frederikssund.

Recent research has shown that the environment has implications for patient recovery. Therefore, there will be a strong focus on the architecture of the new hospital.
The new hospital will offer the most contemporary, efficient and welcoming environment for patients as well as offering the best working conditions for the employees.
When the New North Zealand Hospital is completed, it will, among other things handle common emergency care, woman-child facilities, surgery, orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, palliative care in relation to both acute and planned treatments, ear-nose-throat disorders and audiology.
