I especially appreciate that experienced professionals like me are not just here to do the work. We are also being encouraged to mentor younger colleagues, share knowledge, and play a part in shaping bigger pictures.

With the growing focus on green mobility, smart transport solutions and climate-resilient design, it really feels like we are not just building roads; we are helping design the future of infrastructure.

This international cooperation means our daily tasks are always interesting and never get boring.

My team is involved in a variety of large and complex infrastructure projects globally. We work on everything from expressways and interchanges to urban roads and sustainable transport systems that connect to rail and metro, as well as cycling and pedestrian networks.

These projects stand out because they are forward-thinking. In our projects, we emphasise sustainability, innovation and making a long-term impact. We use advanced tools like BIM and design with climate resilience in mind.

What really sets COWI’s projects apart is the strong commitment to sustainability and climate resilience. Unlike in many places where these things are added at the end, at COWI, they are part of the process from the very beginning.

That means we work on projects that are not just technically challenging, but also meaningful in a broader sense. We design infrastructure that is built to last and make a difference.

The interdisciplinary approach and international collaboration give our projects a broader scope and a higher level of quality than what you might find elsewhere.

People here genuinely support each other, and everyone is approachable and ready to help no matter if you are a junior engineer or a senior specialist. This mentality creates a positive and motivating environment.

I am currently working on the Kalundborg Motorway project in Denmark, and it has been a great experience. It is a great example of how we use modern digital tools and apply Danish design standards to create smart, efficient and sustainable solutions.

On top of that, COWI really invests in our professional growth, not just technically, but also in leadership, project management and cross-disciplinary skills. There are lots of opportunities to learn, take on responsibility and shape your career path.
