COWIND Digital Toolchain
Digital platforms and tools are fundamental to streamlining the design process, reducing costs and improving efficiency in offshore wind farm projects. It is essential to standardise the foundation design across technical disciplines within any offshore wind farm.
COWIND is the overarching execution platform that facilitates seamless and rapid design iterations with our customers, through a fully flexible and customisable suite of tools for foundation design.
We make use of digital tools that are interconnected within COWIND Digital Toolchain. This allows for direct design checks for geotechnical design, metocean load analysis, and primary structure design drawings, design checks, natural frequency analysis and more.
By ensuring full traceability and standardisation according to the highest industry software standards, COWIND allows us to stay ahead of the development within offshore wind.
COWIND operates in the cloud, allowing for scalability and adaptability to changing design requirements. Using this digital platform, we can adjust monopile parameters and dimensions to suit various installation methods and strict regulations.
We provide full traceability in variations and changes. The revision-controlled data can easily be adjusted to new sites to allow for portfolio designs across multiple sites. Through rapid iteration processes and large parameter studies with calibrated loads, COWIND enables us to produce lightweight, code-compliant monopiles.
COWIND Digital Toolchain is flexible and can be customised to meet project-specific needs while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and standardisation.
Together with our customers, we evaluate, update and run new design iterations in line with their scaling ambitions.
Typical offshore wind foundation designs
COWIND is a digital platform that supports the full offshore wind project lifecycle, from planning to maintenance. We enhance decision-making, collaboration and cost-effectiveness while reducing risks and carbon footprint.
It is specifically designed for optimising the design of monopile foundations for offshore wind turbines. It considers thousands of parameters to determine optimised and consistent multi-scenario designs for each and every foundation, thereby reducing the levelised cost of energy (LCoE) and improving schedule efficiency.
Power systems
We design, integrate and optimise offshore wind power systems across the full project lifecycle.
Site conditions
In all aspects across morphology, metocean, geology, geophysics and geotechnics, we turn large datasets into actionable insights and offer end-to-end consultancy.
Monopiles
We have a long history of detailed design for more than 700 monopile foundations for offshore wind farms.
