“I get to work on prestigious projects where I make a real difference in the green transition. At the same time, I experience constant personal and professional development.”
Jesper Klindt Jørgensen, Electrical Specialist, Buildings and Industry
My background is a hands-on education as an electrician. After a while, I decided to study for a degree and add an academic angle. The education included courses on development, business and management, and as part of this I got an internship at COWI and the rest is history, you might say …
Today, I work with a combination of small and big projects. As part of a big team – sometimes, we are up to 300 people involved in a project – you get to work with a lot of different competencies and personalities. In my team, the youngest is 26, and the oldest 84. That means different ways of working and acting – and an abundance of knowledge and experience to learn from.
In the buildings category, COWI primarily focuses on industry, with bigger and more complex projects. Whether you work with pharma, data centres or the energy sector, you can specialise in a certain field or seek new challenges and responsibilities from project to project. For those who want and have the skills, there are endless ways of career development.
Personally, I find the big projects very satisfying. They run for longer periods, and you know that our work makes a real difference and helps the green transition through clever solutions and new technology. It’s also cool to know that we are one of only a few engineering consultant companies that have the size and competencies to work on these projects.

“Until quite recently, nitrogen removal wasn’t part of the scope when you designed wastewater treatment solutions in Norway. Now, we are busy catching up to save our fjords.”

"I find it deeply rewarding to collaborate with a technical team that is willing to challenge the status quo and push the boundaries in our industry."

"You can see me as the 'filter' that takes everything in to understand the big picture and break it down so that together we can deliver it."
