New plant to replace existing straw-fired boiler

With COWI as principal consultant, a new district heating system is being established at an existing district heating plant, which currently consists of a 10 MWth straw-fired district heating unit and three natural gas-fired boilers to handle peak and reserve load. The new unit will replace the existing straw-fired boiler, which is getting old.

The expansion will include a new straw store, new boiler house, new chimney, tank farm with ammonia water tank for the SNCR plant, an ash transport system, a new ash store and a straw dust extractor to ensure easy cleaning in the straw store and shredding room while safeguarding the working environment.
