SUPPLYING CLEAN ENERGY TO NEARLY ONE MILLION AMERICAN HOUSEHOLDS

Energy Solutions

The Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind project off the coast of New Jersey has the potential to supply up to 2,500 megawatts of green, renewable energy to multiple markets along the Eastern Seaboard. In addition to generating enough clean energy to power nearly one million homes, the project will also create jobs and play a part in boosting the region's economy.

COWI will provide concept and pre-FEED design for the electrical transmission infrastructure system – including the design, quantity, and placement of onshore and offshore electrical substations and the cables connecting the substations offshore and onshore the individual wind turbines – for the 183,000-acre lease area, which is located approximately 8-20 miles off the coast of New Jersey between Atlantic City and Barnegat Light.

The project is part of a larger regional effort to meet ambitious procurement targets set by states along the US East Coast of over 20 gigawatts off offshore wind energy by 2035.
