Integrating EU Taxonomy alignment into project design – GW scale renewable generation with Power-to-X

EU Taxonomy Solutions
When completed, this Power-to-X (PtX) energy park will be one of the world's biggest and most ambitious green energy projects. It will use the electricity generated by solar and wind power plants to create green hydrogen and a range of other renewable energy products and services, helping to facilitate the green transition in Denmark and Europe.

The client has appointed COWI to develop a feasibility study. The client prioritises the sustainability aspects of the project, including environmental, health and safety management. Recognising the importance of the EU Taxonomy, and the need for alignment to document a significant contribution to climate change mitigation, the client has requested that COWI assess technology compliance and what is needed going forward. This process is taking place in conjunction with the technical, environmental and financial feasibility components, and will help mature the project for the development stage.
