The new Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge was designed to replace the functionally obsolete Tappan Zee Bridge.
This design-build project helped address today’s needs with additional traffic lanes, greater pedestrian access, the ability to support an additional deck for rail loading and future needs through an enhanced 100-year service life design.
