making travelLing in the city easier and faster

The West Link will be an 8 km long double-track railway, including a 6 km railway tunnel, underneath the city of Gothenburg. With three new underground stations, travelling in the city will become easier, quicker and entail fewer transfers.

The need for large, deep shafts in the city centre poses a significant technical challenge.

Construction start-up is planned for 2018 and the railway is expected to become operational by 2028 at the latest.
