GLOBAL GIS INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITATES KNOWLEDGE SHARING IN TOTAL

Planning Solutions

Maersk Oil (now Total) needed a solution to support data sharing among units across geographical locations.

COWI designed a global GIS infrastructure, which covers Total’s activities on all locations worldwide. The main business requirement was to establish scalable access to geodata and GIS tools for employees globally.

The solution established a collaborative workspace for sharing oil exploration data among 400 users in Total, based on a standard infrastructure and a GIS application portfolio.

COWI also provides 2nd-line support to the GIS infrastructure, which covers both service delivery management and subject matter expertise.
