COWI was engaged by a top tier football club to assist with the design of its new state-of-the-art stadium.

The project entailed significant engineering challenges as the old stadium needed to be demolished while the new stadium was being built adjacently.

COWI was responsible for the design of the innovative moving pitch, which retracts underneath the south stand to reveal a second, artificial, pitch; providing engineering advice on the demolition of the existing stadium; and undertaking a full independent check of the roof.
